Welcome to Family Day Care

Family Day Care offers childcare in a home like environment. Children are cared for in a small groups of varying ages from 0 to 5 years, with some Carers offering outside school hours for children from 5 to 12 years.

Family Day Care is flexible for families, offering:

• Full, part time and occasional care
• Evening and weekend care
• Emergency care
• Vacation care

Family Day Care is government regulated, and Child Care Benefit is available.

Family Day Care Schemes participate in Quality Assurance. Shellharbour / Kiama is a community based organisation run by a Management Committe.

Our Carers

Each Carer must undergo training from the Coordination Unit before they can become a Registered Carer with the scheme. Carers must abide by the Children's Services Regulation 2004, and all the scheme's policies. Carers are visited regularly by professional staff at the Coordination Unit

Playsessions

The Coordination Unit hosts two playsessions per week at Flinders Child and Family Centre. Carers are encouraged to attend regularly for support and networking. Children have fun and socialise with other children in a larger group.

Family Involvement

Families are encouraged to become as involved as their time and commitments allow. Some Carers host an end of year party for all their families. Parents are invited to become a member of the Scheme, with Parent Representatives on the Management Committee. Some families make life long friends through Family Day Care!
